Sat 27 June: Stone • Wood • Metal • Wine
This exclusive trip will leave from Artelium Wine Estate, near Plumpton Station
On Saturday 27 June / 10am - 5pm
The first stop will be to meet Thomas Sargeant, a stone carver and letter cutter whose prestigious clients include St. Paul's Cathedral. St. Pancras Train Station and the Chelsea Physic Garden.
Then we will head to Ditchling village to visit Laurence Moracchini, whose extraordinary work in wood embraces imperfection and the beauty in reclaimed materials.
In the afternoon, the Safari will continue to watch James Price in action in his award winning Sussex forge which specialises in bespoke hand-forged architectural metalwork.
You will be joined by a knowledgable guide and there will be a lunch stop at Artelium Wine Estate, or you are welcome to bring a picnic. We will then finish back at the vineyard and if you have time you can pop into the Skelton Workshops on-site and see more stone carvers at work.
Spaces on each Safari are deliberately limited to 8 people to keep the experience special.
