“I am a multi- media artist and educator who has travelled and lived in many places. Art training includes Cyprus, Limerick and Exeter colleges of Art alongside professional photography training in Bristol. I moved to Brighton for my MA design and illustration course in 2009 and currently live in Seaford.
Originating from the inner world, my work attempts to delve into the subconscious and prompt open, imaginative possibilities. Starting points include automatic drawing, artefact drawing in museums and vintage diagrams for instance.
Silhouette is a consistent motif, inspired by Jung’s shadow theory and the transformative force of creativity. Influenced by Photography, ‘drawing with light’, I draw with hand cut paper shadow magically transformed through light box photography. The 2D work is later digitalised and presented as giclee print.
Other approaches include; sculptural paper forms, installation and printmaking. Ceramics is a recent passion that I have revisited. I also love collaborations, interacting with other creatives as well as running workshops.”
